    State police on Oct. 7 charged Jesse E. Pearce, 30, of 35 Eldridge Road, Brasher Falls, with having a suspended license and driving while ability impaired by alcohol. Troopers charge at 6:10 p.m. on Oct. 7 on County Route 37, Mr. Pearce was stopped for having a suspended registration and was determined to have a blood alcohol content of 0.06 percent.

    A Brasher Falls man has been identified by state police as the person killed Friday night in an ATV crash. Troopers said at about 8:30 p.m. at Route 11 and Hallahan Road in the town of Lawrence, Roger J. Deshane, 46, of Brasher Falls, was operating a 1997 Yamaha Wolverine ATV, traveling south, when he failed to stop at a stop sign on Route 11. Mr. Deshane's ATV struck the side of a loaded 53-foot trailer attached to a 2013 International Harvester tractor operated by Henry J. Hart Jr., 61, of Plattsburgh, which was traveling east on Route 11. Mr. Deshane was thrown from his ATV into the westbound lane of Route 11 and was struck by a 2009 Honda Accord, operated by Nathan H. Magne, 25, of Montpelier, Vt.

    State police charged an 18-year-old Brasher Falls man Aug. 8 with misdemeanor criminal obstruction of breathing and second-degree harassment. Troopers charge that at 9:27 a.m. at a residence on Smith Road, the teen threw a woman against a wall during an altercation and placed his hands around her throat, briefly cutting off her air supply.
