At the Tri-Town Arena in Brasher Falls, NAC regular season and three-time defending champion SLC earned a chance to play for a fourth straight trip to the NYSPHSAA tournament by turning back the fifth-seeded Islanders 3-1 while second-seeded Salmon River, which entered the sectional tournament ranked first atop the NYSSWA Division poll, was stopped short after suffering a 5-2 loss to third-seeded OFA at the Tom Cavanaugh Arena in Fort Covington.

    The Norwood-Norfolk Central hockey team saw it season end in a 4-3 loss at home to the Islanders in the opening round of the Section 10 Division II playoffs on Tuesday at Dominic Zappia Arena. The Islanders will now travel to Brasher Falls on Thursday to take on top-seeded defending champion St. Lawrence Central at the Tri-Town Arena in the semifinals starting at 7 p.m. The other opening round game played Tuesday night saw OFA halt Franklin Academy 5-1.

Sochia, 32, of 29 County Route 53, Brasher Falls, had her Aug. 25, 2014 probation sentence for her conviction of first-degree rape and her Jan. 25 probation sentence for her conviction of aggravated DWI vacated for violations.
