    Olivia Wiskow and Abby Pohlkamp netted goals for the Brainerd/Little Falls Warriors, who came up short in a 3-2 loss to the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton Lumberjacks in the season opener for both teams Tuesday, Nov. 13. Wiskow's goal was with less than a minute left in the second period, assisted by Ella Kalusche and Marre Welinski, and gave the Warriors a 1-1 tie going into the third. BLF goalie Olivia King stopped 19 of the 22 shots she faced as the Warriors outshot the Lumberjacks 41-22.

    The Brainerd Dispatch of Friday Nov. 9, 2018, buried the awful story of another mass murder in California on Page A7! The front page had a large picture of icicles forming on reeds along with articles that were interesting but front page worthy? Hardly, not compared to another mass murder where our U.S. Congress and President Trump do nothing-other than offer thoughts and prayers. How sad that the Dispatch has become so accustomed to mass murder that the horrible murder of 11 innocent people is buried on Page A7.
