    A 24-year-old motorist led Bradenton Beach police on a chase from Bridge Street to the north end of the city just after midnight Dec. 4. The chase ended when the 1998 Buick driven by Mark Goodwin of Cortez failed to negotiate the S-curve in the 2000 block of Gulf Drive North. The Buick hit the rails on both sides of the curve before coming to rest in the grass along the east side of the road, according to police reports.

    An Indiana man arrested in Bradenton Beach for drunk driving lost his license to drive for five years and was ordered to pay $3,266 in costs and fines. Twelfth Circuit Judge Robert A. Farrance found him guilty and sentenced him to a 12-month probation, with credit for time served in jail after his May arrest.
