    A 24-year-old Edmonds man died Tuesday night, Oct. 23, after being shot by a Snohomish County Sheriff's Office deputy at the end of a vehicle pursuit in Bothell. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office said that Nickolas Michael Peters of Edmonds died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.

    A memorial set up at Brackett's Landing for the woman who died by suicide June 16. It's been nearly two weeks since a woman took her life on the train tracks running between Brackett's Landing North and Demitri's Restaurant next to the Edmonds ferry terminal. A vigil for the 33-year-old woman, whom friends have identified as Allison, will take place at 8:45 p.m. Saturday, June 30 at Brackett's Landing.

    The first formal roadway connecting the nascent cities of Seattle and Everett began as a collection of rough wagon roads through the forest. Known today as the Old Highway, it didn't follow the route of the present-day Highway 99, but was cobbled together from a patchwork of existing roads running around the north end of Lake Washington, east through Bothell, north to Mill Creek, and ultimately snaking back to Everett via Beverly Road, bypassing Edmonds and Lynnwood altogether .

    The Community Transit Board of Directors Thursday approved a 12 percent service increase that will restore this fall 10-minute weekday service to the Swift Blue Line that runs through Edmonds and launch the new Swift Green Line between Bothell and Paine Field next spring. Several other route changes were approved, including changes to Boeing service that will coincide with the 2019 Swift Green Line launch.
