    An appliance recycling company that started in Snohomish County before expanding its services across the U.S. is shutting down its operations, laying off 154 employees in Everett and Bothell. The Daily Herald reports Jaco Environmental, which offered services in 28 states, ceased operations Nov. 23. The company reportedly filed for bankruptcy protection Nov. 18. According to the company's website, Jaco recycled more than 400,000 units each year as it coordinated efforts with local and regional utilities.
