Judith Grasso, 53, Shokan, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of fifth-degree attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance, also satisfying a charge of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

    Two men were accused on July 7 of leaving the scene of an accident the previous evening on East Road in the town of Leyden, Lewis County sheriff's deputies reported Monday. Deputies said Johnny Rodriguez, 29, of 3631 River Road, was driving north at a high rate of speed behind a vehicle being driven by Kody A. Holman, 24, of 1958 Route 12D, Boonville, when Mr. Holman came upon a slower-moving vehicle and had to slow down quickly.

Citing declining sales, Padgett's closed in late April after more than six decades in business.

Longway, 31, of 7059 Denley Road, Boonville, was charged May 22 with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana, Lewis County sheriff's deputies release Wednesday. Deputies said Mr. Longway was stopped on Route 12 in the village of Port Leyden for having an obstructed driver's view, and a search of the vehicle by K9 Wyman turned up methamphetamine and marijuana.
