    The developers of the former Southern States property in downtown Boone have once again revised a proposal for a multi-story, mixed-use apartment and commercial project called Rivers Walk. The proposal is set to be reviewed for compliance with town appearance standards by the Boone Community Appearance Commission at 6 p.m. on July 26. The project has been through two public hearings and several revisions in an attempt to gain Boone Town Council approval for planned development rezoning, but council members have expressed concerns about insufficient parking for residents, as well as the look and scale of the buildings.
