Volunteers have worked all week to fill the building with new and gently used items.

    Former Texas State Historian, Dr. Light Cummins will be back in Bonham Friday, November 21, to discuss the historic statue of James Butler Bonham sculpted by noted regional artist Allie Tennant, but this time the statue will look just as good as it did in December 1938 when Tennant watched it lowered onto its marble base. Thanks to the fundraising efforts spearheaded by Fannin County Historical Commission, James Butler Bonham hasn't looked this good since the spirited South Carolina Native crossed Red River on the way to meet his fate at the Alamo.

A saddle that was made for famed Western photographer Erwin E. Smith is now on display at Fannin County Historical Museum. According to the Amon Carter Museum of American Art website , "Smith's photographs, showing both the romance and harshness of cowboy life, are some of the best-known images of the southwestern range early in the last century."
