    An appreciation dinner was held Friday, January 13 at the Bois d' Arc Creek Cowboy Church in Bonham to honor the Fannin County Community Emergency Response Team . The CERT Program began in Fannin County April 2004 and was soon called into service the following September to set up and assist in operations of a shelter at the old Nat'l Guard Armory for victims of Hurricane Katrina that had been evacuated to Bonham.

For a decade, rows of railroad crossties have been stacked south of the historic depot in Bonham, as if patiently waiting for a project to come down the tracks.

Fannin County Commissioners Court began finalizing plans for relocating county employees impacted by the pending restoration of the courthouse by reaffirming the county's desire to construct a new office building in lieu of purchasing an older building, and a prior decision by voters to "restore the grandeur" likely played a role.

    With warm temperatures and high winds forecast for the next three days, Fannin County Commissioners court issued a countywide outdoor burn ban to counter the threat of a fast-moving grassfire.     Nickey Lynn Montgomery, 33, of Honey Grove, Texas was arrested and charged with Manufacture and Delivery Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 Under 1 Gram in a Drug Free Zone , Manufacture and Delivery Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 Under 1 Gram , and Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 Over 4 Grams and Under 200 Grams . Fannin County Sheriff's office Narcotics Unit performed several undercover drug buys from Montgomery and then located and arrested him in Bonham with approximately $500 worth of methamphetamine.
