On May 6, the City of Bonham held a general election for Ward 1 and Ward 5, and a special election to fill an unexpired term for Ward 2. In the special election, John E. "Jet" Trubey was unopposed to fill an unexpired term for Ward 2 and garnered 247 votes.

In two uncontested races, incumbent Kevin Hayes received 279 votes running unopposed for Ward 5 and John Trubey received 247 votes running unopposed for Ward 2. Councilmembers-elect will have the Oath of Office administered by City of Bonham Municipal Court Judge John Skotnik at a special called meeting of Bonham City Council Tuesday, May 9.

Weeks, 34, was reared on country living and motocross racing on his family farm south of Dodd City, Texas, but his professional career in Freestyle Motocross has carried the lifelong Fannin County native to exotic destinations, including Chile, Bolivia, Columbia, Guyana, Italy, Egypt, Israel, Antigua, Barbados, Trinidad, Tahiti, Mexico, plus 47 out of the 50 states.

This event features a Car & Truck Show, spectacular motocross jumps, a Lone Star Garden Tractor Pull Association competition, Sons of Confederate Veterans re-enactors, a Motorcycle Fun Run, music all day on the Main Stage, festival vendors, a model train exhibit in the Bonham Depot, historic displays in the Visitors Center and much more. The popular Tractor Pull will be held at the track slightly west of Main Street at 100 West 1st Street and the tractors fire up at 3:00 p.m. with drivers of all ages competing.
