    On the afternoon of June 7, 2016 local historian Jody Holmes wanted to metal detect a curbside area in Bonham, Texas where his research had revealed The Bonham National Bank stood in 1892 but is now the location of Bonham Floral & Green House. Jody entered the business and asked permission from the employees to use his metal detector on the south side of the building.

    In 1936, when Texas celebrated 100 years of independence, Dallas was selected to host the central exposition, but Fannin County was honored to receive regional artist Allie Tennant's sculpture of Alamo defender James Butler Bonham, as well as one of approximately 1,100 Centennial Markers dispersed throughout the state. Thanks to Fannin County Historical Commission, both historical gifts have now been refurbished.
