    According to Bryan County deputies when they arrived, Johnny Gilmore was on the porch picking up a meth lab, then tossed into the house, where it ruptured. Once the fire department ventilated the house, investigators say they found Charles Greenhaw hiding in a closet with a second meth lab, which was also releasing fumes.

    Results of area school elections, plus a sales tax in Bokchito and a school bond in Bennington, were released Tuesday evening. In Silo, incumbent school board member Donny Simmons was defeated by Sean Bradley, who received 52.7 percent, 521 votes, compared to 47.3 percent, 468 votes for Simmons.

    Voters in Bryan County who want to have absentee ballots mailed to them for the Feb. 10 Boswell I-0012,Calera I-48, and Silo I-00107, Annual School Election and a Special Proposition Election for Bennington on a school bond, and a Municipal excise tax for the Town of Bokchito should apply now, County Election Board Secretary Linda Fahrendorf said. Although the County Election Board can accept applications for absentee ballots until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 4th, Fahrendorf urged voters who want to vote by absentee ballot to apply early.
