However, the plan would still move approximately 740 Bluffton students starting next year, including more than 130 students who live in Moss Creek, The Gatherings and Buckingham Landing, which are currently zoned for Hilton Head schools.

A local, licensed alligator control agent that contracts with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources captured the gator from the Bluffton school and killed it, according to SC DNR spokesman David Lucas.

On May 15, 17-year-old Noah Fedele and 19-year-old Samuel Bougus died in the vehicle crash on Bluffton Drive.
