    A bolt of ash infested with parasitic wasp pupae hangs on a tree near Arkadelphia in part of a biologic control effort again... The invasive borer, a beetle, is seen as a mortal threat to all five ash tree species in the state , and 25 counties are under quarantine against it. These beetles burrow around underneath bark, killing the trees they infest within five years, sometimes faster.

Lindsey, 91, born in Bluff City; dean emeritus of the University of Illinois, Mildred Barnes Griggs, 73, a Marianna native; and C. Michael Tidwell, a longtime teacher and dance choreographer in Little Rock. In addition, Dr. Eddie Reed, a physician and researcher who became the first black branch chief of the National Cancer Institute, will be posthumously inducted.
