    A man died after the car he was in was hit by a Metra Rock Island District train on the Southwest Side near Blue Island and Calumet Park, authorities said. Chicago fire crews responded to near 119th Street and Marshfield Avenue about 7:10 p.m. for a vehicle hit by a train, and found a man in a vehicle who was declared dead on the scene, said Chief Juan Hernandez, a Chicago Fire Department spokesman.
