The genesis of the crashes near mile marker 7.2 wasn't available late Monday afternoon, but the wrecks involved four tractor-trailers, two dump trucks and a box truck, Sgt.

    New Jersey State Police at Perryville are investigating a carjacking that happened about 8:45 a.m. Monday at a Hunterdon County truck stop just off Interstate 78 , a trooper confirmed. An emergency broadcast said a small man wearing black jacket, blue jeans and a hat carjacked a white International Express commuter van with a partial Pennsylvania plate 6140 from the Pilot truck stop in Bloomsbury.

The driver was transported by Pattenburg Rescue Squad to a local hospital, according to those at the scene.
