    Joan Cavanaugh, 81, of Bloomfield Hills, died in the crash on M-72 a mile west of Williamsburg Road in Whitewater Township about 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10. Grand Traverse County deputies said Cavanaugh was the front seat passenger in a westbound Chevy Tracker SUV driven by her husband, which crossed the centerline of M-72 and struck an oncoming Ford Five Hundred sedan. Donald Cavanaugh, 82, was driving the Tracker.
