    The Ware County Sheriff's Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are asking for the public's help in finding 31-year-old Zeb Paul Murray who is wanted for questioning in the death of his roommate. Adam Douglas Noel, 28, was found dead inside his mobile home at 510 Sawdust Trail just east of Waycross on July 9. Investigators found signs of an altercation inside the home, the Sheriff's Office said in a release.

    Officials are looking the roommate and missing car of a church and funeral home pianist found slain in his Waycross home Saturday, the Ware County sheriff said. After Adam Noel did not arrive for a funeral at Pearson-Dial Funeral Home in Blackshear Saturday morning, the staff called the Ware County Sheriff's Office and asked for someone to check on him, Sheriff Randy Royal said.

    Blackshear Chief Municipal Judge Kenneth E. Futch has resigned after a run-in with a local attorney who claims to have a tape of the judge using slurs against black people during a fight with his wife. Futch, 56, who still holds his elected post of Bacon County State Court Judge, found himself at odds last month with lawyer John Thigpen Jr. The attorney was offering free legal representation to people cited by the Blackshear Police Department following a dispute Thigpen had with officers about handicapped parking in front of his law office.

    Waycross has refused to let Pierce County fire officials test hydrants that the city owns on land in Pierce County that was legislatively de-annexed July 1. In a fire chief-to-fire chief request, Pierce County asked if it could test the hydrants for Insurance Service Organization, or ISO, ratings that are used to set homeowner and commercial insurance rates, Waycross City Manager Raphel Maddox said. Maddox said he refused the request because Pierce County has no full-time water and sewer department and, as a result, does not have the expertise necessary to test the hydrants without the risk of damaging the system.
