    I had about $48 left in week one to spend on groceries , and because of my strategy of stocking up on items when they are on sale, buying fresh items in season, not buying junk food, and not being a slave to coupons, I was able to spend only an additional $6.71 for the week. I spent that at the Master Bread Outlet .

May is barbecue month and it is my goal to fill your recipe boxes with some budget friendly ideas for main dishes, side dishes and even desserts that can be cooked outside on your barbecue grill. Today's recipe is a favorite of mine.

    The current trend in food and nutrition is to eat more foods grown and harvested locally. In the past people depended on word of mouth to find where the best roadside stands and farmers markets were.
