    Police in Birmingham need help identifying a suspect from an armed robbery on Gadsden Highway just south of Trussville on Nov. 25. According to police, the armed robbery occurred at approximately 10 p.m. on Nov. 25 at a gas station in the 1100 block of Gadsden Highway. Detectives obtained surveillance video images of the pictured person and vehicle, a black sedan, in which he was traveling at the time of the robbery.

    Birmingham Police detectives have received additional suspect information in connection with a homicide investigation that occurred on Saturday, Nov. 10 around 3:30 p.m. Officers from the East Precinct were called to the 500 block of Oporto-Madrid Boulevard North on a report of a person who was shot. When officers arrived, the victim, identified as 29-year-old Edward Tyurri Matthews, was in the front passenger seat of an SUV unresponsive.

"On Tuesday, narcotics investigators with SCDETF conducted undercover narcotics operations at the Shelby Motor Lodge in Alabaster which led to the arrest of three males from the Birmingham area," according to a statement released by the department.
