    A Big Rapids man was critically injured when he was thrown from his dirt bike at the Silver Lake State Park sand dunes Tuesday. Derek Alan Zwiers, 34, was riding up a dune in the "south directional zone" when he hit a "rut" and was thrown from his 2003 Honda, according to an Oceana County Sheriff's report of the incident.
