    James Collins, of 114 East North Street, a section foreman on the Grand Rapids and Indiana railroad was injured this morning while working two miles north of the city. Mr. Collins was inside an empty gondola car and was standing with his feet braced against the sloping sides of the hopper, when an engine coupled with the car rather forcibly, causing him to slip through the open trap in the hopper and only his presence of mind in swinging his legs around kept him from getting run over by the car wheels although he suffered other injuries.
