    Gallipolis City Park will be seeing the rest of its electrical upgrades installed over the course of the week, according to City Manager Gene Greene, with electrical conduit lining the park's Court Street and Second Avenue sides. John M. Brewer, age 19, of Patriot, one count of improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, a felony of the fourth degree.

    On Sunday, the Mason County Sheriff's Department arrested Theron A. Smith, 39, Dayton, and Amanda N. Chafin, 35, Gallipolis, charging them both with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Specifically, the alleged substances were heroin and cocaine, according to the criminal complaints filed in Mason County Magistrate Court.

Ryan Cochran, 26, of Bidwell, was sentenced to five years in a state facility Wednesday by Gallia County Judge of Common Pleas Court Margaret Evans after he pleaded guilty to the crimes of safe cracking, a fourth-degree felony, tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony, possessing a weapon on disability, a third-degree felony, and receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony.
