    A Bethel Island man killed when he was hit by a train at a crossing Saturday night has been identified. Police said 52-year-old Michael Hall, who was legally blind, was trying to cross the tracks at the Cypress Road crossing near Main Street around 4 p.m. on Saturday.

    A legally blind man who was struck and killed by a freight train in Oakley on Saturday has been identified as 52-year-old Michael Hall of Bethel Island, a Contra Costa County coroner's deputy said today. Oakley police said Hall was crossing the train tracks when he fell and apparently became so disoriented that he was unable to avoid an oncoming train.
