    Ironwood - Three people spoke in favor of Ironwood adopting an ordinance to allow marijuana facilities in the city and one was opposed at a Thursday listening session conducted by the Ironwood Planning Commission. Ironwood Community Development Director Tom Bergman said if the planning commission doesn't adopt an ordinance, there can be no facility in the city under the new Medical Marijuana Facilities Licensing Act which takes effect at the end of the year.

Croci, from Hurley , and Steiger, from Bessemer , were all smiles afterwards as the shadows began to grow across the fairways.

    Ironwood Township - Daniel Gerald Ferguson, 26, an escapee from the Gogebic County Jail in Bessemer on Monday, was captured Friday afternoon, ending an intensive manhunt. The sheriff's office released information it received a tip Ferguson was hiding in a residence in the city of Bessemer where he was apprehended without incident Friday around 2 p.m. Sightings with Ferguson's ex-girlfriend and other possible sightings were described on the Gogebic County Sheriff's Department Facebook page of a man in a black hooded sweatshirt throughout the week, but failed to result in a Ferguson capture.
