    LANCASTER – The Grand Jury of Coos County Superior Court recently handed down several indictments. James A. Anderson, 74, of the New Hampshire Department of Corrections on East Milan Road in Berlin, was indicted on a charge of assault by prisoners – his charge stems from an incident in which he allegedly struck a correctional officer with a cane causing bodily injury.

Chambers was arraigned last Wednesday in circuit court in Salem on a charge of being a fugitive from justice for leaving the state of Massachusetts where he is wanted for the assault with intent to murder charge.

    BERLIN – Jay Poulin of HEB Engineers, who designed and is overseeing the Route 16 project, updated the City Council on the progress on Monday, Jan. 8. He told the Council that the majority of the work is complete. New drainage piping was installed deep in the ground and the road on Upper Main Street has been rebuilt and paved.
