Bennington, age 100, of Richmond, died Monday, July 21, 2014, at Arbor Trace. Born June 10, 1914, in Fayette County, Indiana, to John and Louise Carlton Mangold, she lived most of her life in Richmond. Eloise graduated from Rushville schools. She was a homemaker. Eloise worked with her husband building and renovating many houses in the area. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Eloise was known as the "Candy Lady" by friends, neighbors, and the residents of Interfaith Apartments. She was known for her sense of humor. Eloise enjoyed traveling and sewing. She proudly celebrated her 100th birthday this year. Survivors include her son, Wayne (Judy) Van Sickle of Richmond; several grandchildren, including two granddaughters, Linda Witt and Denita Lyons, both of Richmond; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Bennington who died in 1989; great-granddaughter, Megan Lyons; two brothers, Clarence Mangold and Gilbert Mangold; two step-sons, Paul Henry Bennington and Dwight Bennington; and two step-daughters, Ruth Bromagen and Pauline Ertel. Visitation for Eloise E. Mangold Bennington will be from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 23 2014, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. James Spon officiating. Entombment will be in East Hill Shrine Mausoleum in Rushville, Indiana.
