Otis, a yearly-certified dog by Therapy Dogs International, will be at the Bellville branch on Monday, Mar. 9, at 3 p.m. and at the Lexington branch on Monday, March 23, from 4 to 5 p.m. Dover will be at the Ontario branch on Thursday, March 12, from 4 to 5 p.m. Children in grades 1-6 can improve their reading skills by reading one of their favorite stories to the dogs.

If approved, the grant from the Clean Ohio Conservation Fund will cover 75 percent of the estimated $87,465 cost of the work on 500 feet of shoreline just west of Pleasant Hill Lake Park.

Emergency Management Director Mike Bailey said 7 or 8 inches of snow fell earlier this week, and part of that was beginning to melt from the freezing rain and rain that fell Thursday, but cameras trained on the Black Fork in Shelby and the Clear Fork through Bellville showed no immediate issues.
