Confer and his fiancA e, Diana Timko, Audie Confer and his wife, Cindy, and Melissa Wooster and her husband, Christopher, all of Lanse; Shelly Jones and her husband, William Sr. of Morrisdale; Stewart Confer and his fiancA e, Tami Barnes of Bellefonte; and John Confer and his companion, Beth Ryves of Kylertown. He had 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren for whom he adored and loved dearly.

    Instead of going to trial Monday morning, a Bellefonte man pleaded guilty to burglarizing a local business' garage, setting a stolen truck on fire and robbing a senior citizen during a crime spree last February. Christopher James Handte, 26, of Bellefonte had been charged with aggravated assault, robbery, burglary, reckless burning or exploding, criminal mischief, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, access device issued to another who didn't authorize use, harassment, kidnapping to facilitate a felony and dangerous burning.

    The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 2 has lifted the remaining speed limit restrictions on Interstate 80 in its north central region. As of 2:10 p.m., normal speed has been restored to I-80 between the Bellefonte/161 interchange in Centre County and the DuBois/97 interchange in Clearfield County.

    Due to the winter storm moving through the region, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is temporarily reducing speed limits on sections of Interstate 80 and Route 322 in the north central region. PennDOT is urging motorists to avoid unnecessary travel but those who must head out will see speeds reduced to 45 miles per hour on I-80 eastbound and westbound from the Bellefonte/161 interchange in Centre County to the PA/New Jersey state line.

Hanson, 55, who has been accused of an April 1 shooting at the Osceola Mills Veterans of Foreign Wars, announced District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. Trooper David Patrick of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield barracks, filed a criminal complaint against Hanson. He charged Hanson with criminal attempt to commit murder; aggravated assault, F1; aggravated assault, F2; recklessly simple assault, M2; simple assault, M2; recklessly endangering another person, M2; and persons not to possess firearms, F2.
