    The City of Beavercreek and the police officers being sued by the family of John H. Crawford III - the man shot by police in the Beavercreek Wal-Mart Aug. 5 - have denied the allegations brought in the suit, according to court documents. In responses to the 17 counts brought against it, the Beavercreek party wrote, "Defendants state that Plaintiffs' injuries, if any, were sustained as a direct and proximate cause of intervening superseding third parties over whom these Defendants had no control," and that "damages or injuries were caused or contributed to by Plaintiffs' own negligence and/or intentional conduct and/or voluntarily assumed the risk of said damages and/or injuries."

The corporation has until March 9 to answer, move or otherwise plead to the plaintiffs' complaint. The extension was agreed to by both parties, according to court documents.
