    A father and his daughter, who were both burned in a meth lab explosion in 2014, were sentenced this week. John William "Scooter" Merritt, 54, and his daughter, Charley Merritt, 32, pleaded guilty in Carteret County Superior Court on Monday, according to District Attorney Scott Thomas.
