    More than 100 mourners congregated at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Bayonne to say goodbye to a man they say left them to soon. A funeral service for Pablo Caamano, the 33-year-old Bayonne man who was fatally stabbed early Monday morning in Woodbridge, was held this morning at the Catholic church at 984 Avenue C. Friends and family of Caamano tearfully paid their last respects to the lifelong Bayonne resident.

    BAYONNE -- In an expected move , the City Council voted 4-1 Wednesday night to put the city's animal control contract out to bid. Last November, the council voted to approve a two-year, $87,500-per-year contract for New Jersey Animal Control and Rescue , a Lodi-based company owned by Geoff Santini, who previously had the Bayonne contract under the name Hudson County Animal Enforcement Inc. While the city now appears to be looking for a new provider, the current contract will remain in place until a new service, if any, is chosen.

    NEW BRUNSWICK - A Bayonne woman pleaded not guilty Wednesday morning to charges she stabbed a man to death in his vehicle near Interchange 12 on the N.J. Turnpike early Monday morning. Amarlis Calderon, 32, entered her pleas through her attorney, at her first court appearance before Superior Court Judge Alberto Rivas on charges of murder for fatally stabbing Pablo Caamano, 33, also of Bayonne, about 3 a.m. Monday.
