Robert and Frances Angelini, ages 64 and 65 respectively, were killed when their three-story building at 77 East 21st St. caught fire at 3:37 a.m. The building was subsequently demolished because of severe structural damage.

At around 3:14 a.m. on July 11, the Bergen County man was struck by a vehicle on Route 440 North on the ramp to the New Jersey Turnpike when he got out of his delivery truck to pick up an item that had fallen out of his truck, police said.

    After nearly a one-month investigation, two painters employed on the Bayonne Bridge construction project have been charged with theft of copper cable from the work site, police say. The stolen cable caused an electrical outage at the main power of the Bayonne Bridge and is expected to cost more than $9,000 to replace, according to Bayonne police public information officer Joe Pentangelo.
