    Athens-Clarke County government officials are planning to talk with University of Georgia athletics representatives about setting the date for G-Day, the annual spring intrasquad football game, months in advance in order to accommodate planning for other local springtime events, particularly in the downtown area. Before this year, G-Day did not present much of an issue for local police and other government services because it did not attract particularly large crowds, struggling to fill even half of UGA's 92,746 seat Sanford Stadium.

    The 6-foot-7, 340-pound Williams started for two seasons at the school in Baxley in Southeast Georgia after moving from Pierce County. Williams had planned to head to Hutchinson Community College to get more exposure for college coaches, but things changed after the Bulldogs new coaching staff showed interest.
