On October 23, 2016, deputies with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office contacted a female victim at a local hospital who told them Jean Paul Walston, 23, of Geismar, forced oral and vaginal sex on her without her consent, while in his car.

    Firefighters and emergency medical services were dispatched after lightning struck a Baton Rouge home during an early morning thunderstorm on Saturday. The St. George Fire Department responded to a reported house fire on Blecker Driver, which is near Jefferson Highway at Bluebonnet Boulevard, a little before 9 a.m. Firefighters arrived on scene minutes later to find fire in the attic after lightning apparently struck the home.

    A Hammond woman is behind bars after authorities say she took a family member to cash his disability check, promised to purchase a trailer for him, but in turn took the money and never returned. According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Department, Tomaro Rheams, 26, is a family member of the victim that allegedly drove the victim to the Social Security Administration Office to file for disability benefits in the early part of this year.

On October 4, 2016, deputies with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a cyberstalking complaint where the victim was sent several harassing text messages over the course of three days by Jack Collins, Jr.,42, of Zachary, who was legally married to her and has been separated from since January of 2013.
