    The Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners voted 8 to 1 Monday to begin eliminating the limit on the number of patients for which doctors can recommend therapeutic marijuana. Doctors and patients alike expressed concern that the limit would stifle the program since, as of Monday, only 48 doctors had applied for a permit or license.

    Curt Monte, a spokesperson for the Baton Rouge Fire Department, said investigators found a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox on fire in the 1900 block of Hemlock Street on August 8. When authorities notified Cyprian that her car had been found on fire in Baton Rouge she initially told investigators she had reported the vehicle stolen and filed a claim with her insurance company. Monte said Cyrpian admitted to investigators the following week that she paid a man, known only as "D", $250 to get rid of her vehicle because she could not afford to make payments on the car loan.
