Garrett Ward, a 25-year-old commercial real estate agent, was remanded to the jail in connection with the fatal beating of 60-year-old Arnold "Red" Jackson on Jan. 6. Police said Ward drunkenly beat the New Orleans man to death for "no apparent reason" in the 2000 block of St. Charles Avenue - Jackson died several days after the attack.
