    Voters in the Tri-County Area who wish to cast their ballots before Nov. 8 - a number that continues to increase for each national election - will have a variety of opportunities to do so. Early voting will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the offices of the county Election Commission, 524 SW Adams St., through Oct. 28. Weekday hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 31 through Nov. 4 and on Nov. 7. The offices also will be open for voters from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 29; noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 30; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 5; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 6. Beginning Oct. 24 and running through Nov. 6 the Illinois Central College North Campus, 5407 N. University St., will host early voting.

    BARTONVILLE - Police have arrested five more suspects in a roundup of the group that allegedly invaded a Burns Street home earlier this month. Five teens from Bartonville, Peoria and Hanna City were arrested Wednesday for the crime, which Bartonville Police Chief Brian Fengel said he suspected was retaliation for another incident in Peoria County.

    About 4:30 p.m., eight young males knocked on the front door of the 47-year-old victim's home in the 5000 block of West Burns Avenue, said Bartonville police Chief Brian Fengel. When the woman answered the door, the men pepper-sprayed her, shoved her back inside and proceeded to ransack the house “like they were looking for something,” Fengel said.

    Two armed men broke into a Bartonville woman's home Tuesday night, assaulted her and fired a gunshot near her head in front of her two young children, police said. The 28-year-old woman was sitting at home at about 10:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Harrison Street watching television with her daughters, ages 4 and 7. After she got off the phone with a friend, two masked men kicked in the front door, armed with handguns, according to a police report.
