Victorville saw a total of 0.28 inches of rain Friday night while Wrightwood was greeted with 11 inches of white powdery snow within the last two days, Albright said.

    A Barstow woman who was intoxicated when she struck and killed a motorcyclist from Helendale last February has been sentenced, court records show. Teresa Rayne Kendall was sentenced last week to 25 years in state prison after entering into a plea deal in November, but Deputy District District Attorney Shannon Faherty said a separate case added years to the sentence.

During a presentation delivered at a meeting of the Victorville Rotary Club that was cut short on Tuesday, Winkel said historical documents from 1890 describe the Mojave as the “Hide and Seek” river because it “appears and disappears” at various points along its course to Soda Dry Lake - the river's terminus - located in the Mojave National Preserve.
