    A municipal elected official from Camden County has decided to skip his first public meeting with constituents Tuesday after being charged last month with leaving the scene of a car accident and driving with an expired license. Paul Dougherty, a commissioner in Haddon Township -- one of three elected officials responsible for administering the municipality -- was scheduled to appear at the township's regular action meeting at 7 p.m. in the municipal building.

    A Haddon Township commissioner cited for leaving the scene of a car accident and driving with an expired license will face a judge in another county when his case is heard in municipal court, a township court clerk said Wednesday. Paul Dougherty, one of three elected officials who administer the municipality, is accused of rear-ending a car near the intersection of Haddon Avenue and Cuthbert Boulevard in Haddon Township on the evening of July 19. Court clerk Katie Murphy said a judge will decide where and when the hearing will be held and it is expected to be in Burlington County to avoid any conflicts of interests in Camden County.

    High school students fleeing flames on their passenger bus on the southbound shoulder of the New Jersey Turnpike in Camden County on Sunday morning not only got a doctor who rushed to their rescue, but a celebrity doctor, no less. Dr. Mehmet Oz, who rode to fame as one of the favorite purveyors of health and wellness to Oprah Winfrey and other stars, just happened to be passing by moments after the bus erupted in flames, near Barrington, according to his Facebook page.

    Donald Baldi, of Barrington and Charles Borrelli, of Voorhees, were arrested and charged with child-porn offenses by the Camden County Prosecutor last week.( Two men, including one with "top-secret" clearance, have been charged with child pornography sex crimes and other charges in separate cases, the Camden County Prosecutors Office said Monday. Donald Baldi, 41, a Navy contractor with top security clearance, was arrested at his home on Albany Avenue in Barrington on Friday and charged with possession and distribution of child pornography.
