    A 6-year-old girl is dead following a crash in Van Buren County Friday. Michigan State Police tell us it happened on 66th Street near 26th Avenue in Bangor Township shortly before 6 p.m. The driver of a southbound vehicle was distracted and swerved off the road.

    A Bangor man will serve between seven and 15 years in prison for a fatal shooting at a local park early this year. Prosecutors say 20-year-old Thurman Fletcher shot 28-year-old Eddie Holland of Hartford at Lions Park in Bangor on the night of February 3 when a drug deal went bad.

    Van Buren County Deputies are blaming distracted driving for a van/pedestrian collision that left a Bangor woman with life threatening injuries. Deputies say a 16-year-old from Hartford was driving along in the 62000 block of Red Arrow Highway in Hartford Township at about 3:00 Friday afternoon when the van strayed over the fog line on the edge of the road, clipped a mailbox and then hit the 46-year-old victim as she was walking along the road.
