    Over 1.5 million active duty military men and women have passed through Bangor International Airport on their way to and from their overseas assignments and many who have had multiple tours overseas have stopped in Bangor multiple times. These greetings have resulted in a collection of memorabilia consisting of over 5,000 challenge coins, more than 1,000 patches, over 500 dog tags, flags, banners and many letters of gratitude.

Abbot, Esqs., two of the corporators of the Belfast and Moosehead Railway, who recently visited the towns on the route of the proposed road, for the purpose of examining their resources and obtaining the views of their citizens respecting the enterprise. H. O. Alden, Esq., was chosen chairman of the meeting and called upon the gentlemen above named to give an account of their mission, which they did to considerable length, and to the great interest of those who heard them.

    Were I younger, like by about 50 years, I'd learn me how to keep bees; I'd have me a hen house; I'd have me a donkey and a donkey cart for going down through the woods to the village store; I'd grow an acre of garlic; and I'd have a "Secret Garden" full of millions of roses, hollyhocks like my Grammie Tucker had on the farm, lilacs, of course, a blue spruce for nesting cardinals, two matching red maples with a proper farm swing and bird feeders and bird baths - and my chair swing. I'd play my flute for the birds, after learning to play it better, handmade by a Navajo out west - a gift from one of my sons some years ago.
