    Bandera was well represented at the 2014 UIL State Meet as the Bulldog Varsity Boys Cross Country team finished fifth place overall out of 16 teams, only two places away from the medal stand. "Our team was not ranked going into the meet, but ended up surprising a lot of teams by beating Boerne as well as Giddings who were both picked to be in the top three," Cross Country Coach Clifton Tierney said.

    The Liberty Hill Panthers completed a perfect 5-0 District 14-4A-1 season while eliminating the Bandera Bulldogs from the 2014 playoffs with a convincing 42-23 victory in the season's final game played on Friday, Nov. 7 at Bulldog Nation Stadium. With the win, the Panthers improved their overall season record to 8-2 and 5-0 in district play while earning the title of District Champions and a berth in the statewide playoffs.

With an Area Championship on the line, the LadyDogs tenaciously attacked the Pirates with a powerful net game that left Bandera victorious with a final 15-11 score.

    History was made this past Saturday, as the Bandera LadyBulldogs ran away with a 2014 UIL Girls Class 4A State Cross Country Championship and two individual state medal winners. The meet, held at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock, hosted over 300 of the state's best runners in boys and girls 4A division.

The girls crossed the line with Clarkin at 11:56, Presa at 11:58, and Yermo at 12:04, earning all three girls an individual medal and assuring the team a repeat trip to UIL State Cross Country Championships for the fourth time in the last five years.
