    The City of Bandera and The Bandera Economic Development Corporation are pleased to announce the long awaited groundbreaking of The Silver Spur Skate Park located at 9th and Maple which was held Wednesday, Feb 22. The youth and this community have been raising money for this project for 16 years. With the EDC recently funding an additional $60,000, the Silver Spur Skate Park Trust Fund now has a balance of $134,588.05 to build the park.

    Following lunch at the Camp Verde General Store on Thursday, Feb. 16, the Dutch Treat Luncheon Club of Pearsall made the trek to the Collins of Texas Medina factory showroom on St Hwy 16 in Medina, then to the Leather Bank of Bandera, a Collins store. According to Francis Karasek, one of the founding members, the Dutch Treat Luncheon club was created in the early 1950s.

    For the fourth time during the 2017 powerlifting season, at least one of the LadyBulldogs attended her first powerlifting meet ever when Bandera traveled to the East Central Hornet Invitational Powerlifting Meet on Saturday, Feb. 11. Although none of the ten LadyBulldogs brought home a medal, all competed extremely well, as all recorded their best weight totals of the year by improving in at least two of the three lifts. Six of the ten schools competing at the meet were Division 1 schools, which means that they are either 5A or 6A schools, yet the LadyBulldogs were competing at a higher level than most of the Division 1 girl entries in each of the weight classes where Bandera had entries.
