    Eddie D. Bermea, 34, of the 1500 block of Grand Drive, DeKalb, and his wife, Joyce T. Bermea, were driving northbound on Eola Road when a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder driven by Shayan U. Farooqi, 21, of the 1700 block of Hackney Drive, Aurora, crossed over the median and collided with the DeKalb couple's 2009 Honda Fit. Farooqi told police his vehicle had mechanical issues and he lost control, according to a news release from the Aurora Police Department.

The Honda's driver, 34-year-old Eddie D. Bermea of the 1500 block of Grand Drive in DeKalb, was pronounced dead at the scene, Ferrelli said.
