    A Barrow County man remains in jail almost a month after authorities said officers had to force him off the roadway in a high-speed chase in which he was driving a stolen vehicle and armed with six firearms and several knives. The pursuit covered more than 30 miles and only ended when a Georgia State Patrol trooper initiated a maneuver that forced the vehicle off the roadway, according to a Barrow County Sheriff's report.

    A Lawrenceville man's arrest in November on a charge of stealing more than $56,000 in generator batteries was attributed this week to evidence found on the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Secondary Metals Recyclers Database. The database showed the suspect sold numerous items to a salvage yard and it also provided the suspect's picture and images of the stolen items, according to the GBI.

The thefts have occurred in at least six locations in Barrow County and at least one power box in Dacula, the latter where investigators with the Gwinnett County Police Department said Wednesday they have identified a possible suspect.

    A convicted felon who led Barrow County sheriff's deputies on a miles-long chase last week was found in possession of a sawed-off shotgun and illegal drugs when he was finally apprehended, authorities said. Robin Ray Farmer, 42, of Auburn had 15 criminal charges filed against him as a result of the Oct. 16 chase that ranged from the city of Carl in Barrow County to south of Dacula in Gwinnett County.
