    An Athens man recently received a 120-day prison sentence for shooting his neighbor's dog and beating it with a baseball bat so badly it had to be euthanized at an animal hospital. When passing sentence on Friday, Clarke County Superior County Judge Eric Norris additionally ordered 43-year-old Joshua Gregory Allen to serve five years on probation.
