ATU finished the regular season with an 8-3 record and tied for second in the Great American Conference with Harding , which won its eighth consecutive game.

ATU rolled up 563 yards of total offense and 297 rushing yards while accumulating their highest single-game points total since Nov. 18, 1961, when they defeated the University of the Ozarks 67-7.
