    Mosquito trapping and testing in Fremont County this week resulted in one pool testing positive for West Nile virus, according to Nancy Pieropan, the assistant supervisor of the Fremont County Weed and Pest Department. "In the Arapaho area about 1,990 mosquitoes were trapped, only 17 of these were Culex but the reading came back as high as possible," she reported in her weekly update to the media.

    U.S. Attorney Christopher A. Crofts announced today that on August 25, 2015, Susan Chippewa , 28, of Arapahoe, and Byron Spoonhunter , 23, of Ethete, were sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Scott W. Skavdahl for first degree felony murder. Chippewa received 35 years imprisonment and Spoonhunter was sentenced to 26 years.

    A single vehicle rollover this morning just past 11 a.m. on the 17-Mile-Road sent one woman to SageWest-Riverton's Emergency Room with undetermined injuries. The woman's silver Dodge Ram pickup left the highway about two miles west of Great Plains Hall, took out a section of fence and flipped on its top.

Annie Quiver-Whiteplume was finally located some two hours after the first call came in after officers saw her run into an apartment at the College Hill Complex on the heel of one of those false calls.

    Police responding to a domestic fight call at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 2300 block of Walnut Avenue in the Wind River Estates ended up making two separate arrests in what one officer called finding "one of the largest shards of methamphetamine" that he'd ever seen. A shard of meth is a crystal about 7 to 8 inches long.
