    ARAPAHOE - The 6 a.m. Friday morning sun was blinding along River Road, a narrow asphalt ribbon next to the Neuse River, blending into a dirt path along thousands of acres of Don Lee Farms cornfields. Dozens of cars and vans lined the edge of the green field, with upwards of 100 volunteers roaming the rows with plastic buckets and picking corn.
